Wednesday will be our Cross Campus West Side day, when we'll alternate each week from the campus in Santa Monica to the one in El Segundo, both also from 12-2pm.
? We're starting a series of live figure drawing workshops in a private art studio in the Hollywood Hills, off of Muholland Dr. Book our first one here.
? Because of our series at the Bob Baker Marionette Theater we'll put our Open Studio workshops at Art Works Studio on a brief hiatus.

A.I.R. Gallery (Artists in Residence, Inc.), a gallery in Brooklyn NY, is having an open call for their annual postcard show. The gallery was established in 1972 as the first not-for-profit, artist-directed and maintained gallery for women artists in the United States. The proceeds from their annual postcard show benefit their Fellowship Program for Emerging and Underrepresented Artists and other programs that serve the gallery's mission to advance the status of women in the arts.
This could be a great opportunity to support a great art organization, a human rights cause, and also have the chance to have our work featured in a formal gallery, on the East coast.
All work is 4x6. All work is exhibited in the gallery. Work is sold at $45.
This year A.I.R post card show will be dedicated to immigrant rights and reproductive justice advocate, Alejandra Pablos, who was detained on March 7th for protesting against the Department of Homeland Security at a rally in Virginia early this year.
I'll bring several images of Alejandra for a miniature portrait session. Feel free to bring any images relating to the theme of immigrant rights and advocacy. Unsold postcards after exhibit at the gallery will be donated to Mijente and the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, two organizations Alejandra is involved with.
We'd be happy to submit your work to the gallery for you before their dealine. Also, submitting is not 'mandatory'. Feel free to keep your painting after the workshop you may attend. And you don't need to attend our panting workshops to submit. Feel free to submit work on your own. Here is all the information.
Bob Baker Marionette Theater I
We're so excited to host again a series of painting workshops at this magical location. We're proud to be part of the theater Imagination Academy Program, spreading the rich marionette heritage through art education. Their current production is The Circus and features some of the most sophisticated marionettes in their collection. We'll get inspired by this show to create some marionette portraits.
We're excited to announce a new location in a private art studio located in the Hollywood Hills, off of Muholland Dr. Because of the privacy of the studio, we're thrilled to bring in a nude model for a figure drawing session.
Still Life Painting Workshop at Valley Relics Museum
Join us for an exclusive access to this spectacular collection of beautiful relics from a glorious bygone era. The Valley Relics Museum houses a curated assortment of culturally valuable objects recovered from the San Fernando Valley in a united celebration of a colorful time and of the colorful people who lived in it. Their mission is to protect and preserve the local history through restoration, conservation, and education.
