Painting Series: IT'S OVER
Rarely do we propose a painting theme that revolves around just one image. However, on the last day of August, the last military plane left Kabul right before midnight with the last American soldier stepping into it. The image is so powerful and moving that we just had to paint it.
The XVIII Airborne Corps of the U.S. Army posted the now-iconic image on their Twitter account. One figure stands alone in an eerie nocturnal scene, symbolizing the conclusion of a two-decade-long drama.
History is remembered through powerful images, and this one is going to stick in our minds. We believe it’s essential to paint it to ensure its significance and symbolism are remembered.
