Sarah Lucas retrospective is currently at the Hammer Museum. It was nice to see her famous piece, Au Naturel, which gives the title to the exhibition. We first saw the piece at the Saatchi Museum in London, in the 90s, when it was still the talk of the art world. What made this time more special than ever was the article in the LA Times about the person who replaces the oranges and cucumber every few days.
We'll brough a bunch of oranges and cucumbers in our workshops that week. Each painter got two oranges and one cucumber to be arranged in any way they wanted to, as still life for their painting.
