Roofless Tuesday in NYC - Single Day
Tuesday, September 5, 2023, of Roofless in NYC - Single Day
We will set our nomadic atelier across Fifth Avenue's grand Guggenheim Museum building from the Central Park sidewalk. The iconic Frank Lloyd Wright concrete building is a work of art, with its soothing, sinuous, milky curves contrasting with the walled-in concrete hard lines behind. Wright was influenced by nature and envisioned creating a "Lighthouse of Knowledge" that flowed like a natural landscape. This testament to the indomitable creative spirit was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991.
In the afternoon, we will gather at the museum and experience the building from the inside, ascending its spiraling ramp to explore its current exhibitions and permanent collection. As twilight descends and the twinkling city lights arise around the park, we will stop at the Vegan Night Market on Wollman Rink, inside Central Park. The beloved rink transforms into a tapestry of stalls inviting us to enjoy a plant-based culinary journey while admiring the impossible new city skyline.
